WEXPO HEADS FOR THE HILLS

Great day out where community meets business
THE Hills will come alive to the attractions of WEXPO on October 11 when the popular business – community event makes its local debut at the Pioneer Theatre.

The Hills WEXPO event is being held in partnership with The Hills Shire Council with support from the Sydney Hills Business Chamber (SHBC) and local businesses.

WEXPO was launched in 2022 with an all-day event at Blacktown and has since expanded to be held in Parramatta The Hills.

WEXPO is Western Sydney’s home-grown expo series, designed by locals to promote community and local businesses with exhibitors, keynote speakers, special events and workshops.

“WEXPO in The Hills will feature The Hills’ first Jobs Forum facilitated by the Sydney Hills Business Chamber, Dural Chamber, Norwest Chamber and Hawkesbury Chambers,” said SHBC Chair Kerrie Sheaves.

“The Jobs Forum will be attended by business, education and employment stakeholders (by invitation) and is also open to the public/businesses who are attending the WEXPO event, who will be working together to identify solutions to the gaps in jobs growth, skills and employment in north-west Sydney.”

Patron for WEXPO, Mayor of The Hills Shire,  Dr Peter Gangemi said that with over 22,000 businesses and hundreds of community groups in The Hills, WEXPO presents a unique platform for networking, business growth and collaboration.

“Being this year’s WEXPO patron is an absolute honour, and I am so happy that Hills businesses have this opportunity for the first time,” he said.

“It is a key priority of Council to support our local business community, and that is why I am so proud to support WEXPO. Strong local businesses drive a strong local economy as well as local employment.”

This year’s Hills WEXPO will kick-off with the Sydney Hills Business Chamber Business Connection Breakfast where Chamber members and guests can network and explore opportunities.

This will be followed by a FREE business exhibition and FREE workshops, where residents and businesses alike can expand their networks, talk with exhibitors and experience a great day out.

Mayor Gangemi said WEXPO presents a great chance for business owners to expand, thrive and capitalise on the opportunities presented by our dynamic Shire.

“The Hills is a great place to do business, and this has been enhanced by major investment in infrastructure like the Sydney Metro Northwest and Rouse Hill Hospital, as well as the planning Council is doing with its Economic Growth Plan and the Castle Hill, Rouse Hill and Norwest Precinct Plans,” he said.

“I encourage businesses and residents to register for this event, which is a great way to connect with other local businesses, showcase their products and increase their visibility to the wider public.”
