Commitment to staff pays off for Younis

LEADING Western Sydney accountancy and business advisory firm, Younis and Co has been judged Australia’s Recommended Employer in the Professional Services/Accounting classification at the 2013 Australian Business Awards.

The Parramatta-based company has more than doubled its staff numbers over the past three-and-a-half years on the back of market-leading recruitment, education, training and human resources programs.

“Some time ago, we made a conscious decision to provide our employees with more than just the training and education needed to become great at their jobs, we resolved to invest into creating a working environment that allows staff to feel happy, stimulated and valued,” said Pierre Wakim, Partner of Younis and Co.

“When employees have a positive outlook in their workplace, they tend to have higher levels of productivity and output – something that is beneficial to both clients and the overall business.”

The 2013 Australian Business Awards saw 100 winners announced across 20 business and product award categories.
The Recommended Employer Award recognises organisations that provide a stimulating and supportive workplace through initiatives that demonstrate excellence in human resource management.

“One of our key objectives over the coming years will be to solidify Younis and Co as an employer of choice for Australia’s best and most promising accountants,” Mr Wakim said.

“By continuing to attract the best staff, we are confident we will still be able to continue to deliver market leading service and advice,” continued Pierre Wakim.

“We are greatly honored to receive this award and would like to thank the entire Younis and Co team for helping us to achieve this wonderful milestone.”

Younis and Co was founded in Granville in 1979 with one staff member working out of a small office. Today, the business has four partners, more than 30 staff and services hundreds of clients across Australia.
