Western Sydney’s most exceptional women honored at awards

WESTERN Sydney’s most exceptional women have been honored at the annual Outstanding Western Sydney Women Awards recently.

The awards are an initiative by Western Sydney Women (WSW), supported by Kate Carnell AO, Ombudsman, Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise.

“Geography has for too long considered to be destiny, and this has disadvantaged women in locations such as western Sydney. But women from these areas should have as many oppor-tunities as everyone else, and this is being fostered by Western Sydney Women, which aims to help women in the region advance their businesses and career paths, and provide a net-work of support for each other, creating generational change,” Ms Carnell said.

“The Western Sydney’s Outstanding Women Awards not only spotlights the impressive work & achievements of the winners but highlights the potential of all women who live & work in the greater western Sydney region.”

WSW founding director Amanda Rose said the “calibre of women being nominated was out-standing and this is what Western Sydney Women is all about, promoting women who have long been ignored”.

Ms Rose congratulates all the winners with a special mention to the overall Outstanding Western Sydney Woman, Tania MacLeod of The Stage Door Performing Arts who has been and still in a pillar in the business and local community.
