KIDSWEST DONATES FOR CHRISTMAS

Supporting hospital children in need
THE youngest and smallest patients at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals (BMDH) will benefit from medical supplies and equipment thanks to the generous donation from local children’s charity KidsWest.

The equipment and supplies valued at more than $40,000 include infant bottle warming devices, equipment to assist neonates and infants with their breathing and the latest technology to distract children while they undergo medical procedures.

KidsWest Executive Director Trevor Oldfield AM has supported BMDH for the past 28 years raising funds for vital medical equipment.

“I’m proud to be involved in supporting hospitals in my backyard and I hope we can raise more than $100k by June 2024,” Trevor said.

BMDH Paediatrician and Children’s Ward co-head of department Dr Chris Wong is grateful for the donation which will be well received by the staff and enhance the high-quality patient care provided.

“We are appreciative of this long term support and look forward to further collaboration with KidsWest,” Chris said.

KidsWest raises funds through fundraising local activities including bingo, sponsorship from local business and online donations.
