Take the truely Aussie experience

THIS coming Australia Day – Sunday, 26 January 2014, from 7am to 9am, why not take on a truly Aussie experience and have breakfast with a kangaroo or a koala at Blacktown City Council’s ‘Wake Up with the Wildlife’ event?

“Wake Up with the Wildlife is a popular event in Blacktown City. It gives 1,500 Blacktown City residents the opportunity to wander through Featherdale Wildlife Park in the early hours of the morning, all for a good cause” Mayor of Blacktown City, Councillor Len Robinson said.

This special event does require bookings as spots are limited. Tickets are $2 per person (all money raised will be donated to the Australian Koala Foundation) and bookings will open from 8.30am, Monday, 6 January, 2014 by calling 9839 6000.

Tickets are expected to sell out fast! Tickets must be collected from Council (at 62 Flushcombe Road, Blacktown) with payment by Monday, 13 January, 2014.

A sausage sizzle breakfast will also be available for purchase at the event, provided by the Riverstone Lions Club.

Featherdale Wildlife Park is located on Kildare Road, Blacktown. Ticket holders must enter the park between 7am and 9am.

This unique Australia Day experience is proudly sponsored by Channel Nine and Featherdale Wildlife Park.

Other festivities taking place on Australia Day in Blacktown City include a FREE Australia Day concert on The Rooty Hill (Eastern Road, Rooty Hill) between 4pm and 9pm.

The afternoon at The Rooty Hill will include performances by The Collective, BNO “Big Night Band”, Daryl Braithwaite plus a firework spectacular, amusement rides plus more!
