Is your job making you sick? Free webinar may help

A GALLUP study on job engagement conducted in 142 countries has found that only 13% of employees worldwide are engaged in their jobs.

The majority of the global working population is dissatisfied, disassociated and disengaged in their jobs.

Over the years there have been many philosophers and scholars who have encouraged individuals to not just find any job, but one that gives meaning and stimulation to promote a healthy life.

Now with science and doctors making the same recommendations the advice is being taken more seriously.

Recently, Suzanne Koven a Medical Practitioner working at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston wrote an article saying: "People who don't enjoy or feel fulfilled by their work are more likely to be anxious and depressed and, to a lesser degree, more likely to have physical symptoms such as headaches, nausea, dizziness, tremors, and back pain which disappear on the weekend (unless they happen to work on the weekend)”.

Therefore enjoying our 9-5 job and gaining fulfillment (the type that resonates with ones spirit and soul) is not 'a nice to have' but a 'MUST have' for optimum mental health.

Just as the body needs to be stimulated by exercise and nutrition for optimum physical health, the same is true for mental health, say experts. People need stimulation from the work they do and derive meaning from it.

The consequence of work dissatisfaction causing major disruption to our mental health is echoed by Dr E.B. Faragher from Manchester Business School, who published a series of studies strongly associating low levels of job satisfaction with mental/psychological problems; the strongest relationships were found for burnout.

A free worldwide webinar is being held on April 2 by Rita Joyan, a Career Development Consultant and Learning and Development veteran, addressing the effects of job dissatisfaction and how to find that elusive dream job/career.

This free training is dedicated to teaching unhappy, uninspired and bored employees considering changing jobs, changing careers or thinking about starting a business, or not knowing what to do, how to escape the rat race and finally find what work will provide satisfaction, meaning and resonate with their optimum health.

The free worldwide webinar is designed to provide an escape route out of the rat race maze.
