The expo, held at Hills Shire Council chambers on March 11, allowed business managers and owners a chance to find out how to be compliant and legal in the running of their businesses and employment of staff.
Starting at 9am, businesses pre-booked 15 minute appointments with the likes of the Australian Taxation Office, Australian Securities and Investment Commission, the NSW Small Business Commissioner’s Office.
According to a Hills Shire Council spokesman, there were 496 registrations for the various services.
That translated to 6660 minutes of face-to-face advisory support. There also were five break-out business education sessions.
In all, there were 21 exhibitors that included businesses showing their wares.
“Business managers and owners continually have pressure to be compliant, be legal, be aware of employee’s rights and be aware of the risks that can present itself to the business and this expo helps with that,” the spokesman said.
“Not only were there government contacts at the exchange but also reputable organisations locally that assisted with understanding administration tools, superannuation, technology and marketing questions or advice.”
