Liverpool considers new hotel to meet demand

LIVERPOOL City Council is considering submissions regarding the construction of a $32.3 million, 11-storey, 121-room hotel to meet the demand for accommodation in the Liverpool area.

The project is planned to be adjacent and connected to the Mercure Sydney-Liverpool Hotel, a 104-room property, at the Liverpool Catholic Club, on Hoxton Park Road, Prestons.

The Wood & Day Partnership said the proposed development has been designed to provide additional guest rook accommodation and meeting rooms to augment the existing club and hotel facilities in order to meet the burgeoning commercial demand.

“[The hotel] will help foster the economic wellbeing of the area, while also strengthening Liverpool as a service and employment centre in South-West Sydney.” the company said.

Council is the consent authority and the Sydney West Joint Regional Planning Panel is the determining authority.

Elsewhere in the city, Quest Service Apartments will manage a nine-storey hotel to be built in the southern precinct of the Liverpool CBD.
