Fatal crash - Berkshire Park
ABOUT 6am on January 21, emergency services were called to The Northern Road, Berkshire Park, after reports a truck and car had collided head-on.
 
The driver and sole occupant of the car died at the scene.
 
The male truck driver was uninjured and has been taken to Hawkesbury Hospital for mandatory testing.
 
Officers from Nepean Police Area Command have established a crime scene and the Northern Road remains closed between Carrington Road and Leitch Avenue. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Man charged over alleged damaged property, Public Health Order breach - Kellyville Ridge
 
A MAN has been charged after allegedly damaging property and refusing to comply with a Public Health Order at a fast-food outlet in Sydney’s north-west.
 
About 8pm on Saturday, January 9 officers from Quakers Hill Police Area Command were called to a restaurant on Windsor Road, Kellyville Ridge, following reports a customer had become aggressive towards staff.
 
Police will allege in court that a man began to make an order at the counter when he was asked by staff to complete a COVID-safe check-in, in line with the current Public Health Orders.
 
The man refused and allegedly became aggressive and verbally abused staff, before he pushed a cash register and printer off the counter and left the restaurant. No injuries were reported.
 
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident commenced and following inquiries, a 25-year-old man was arrested at Riverstone Police station on January 11.
 
The St Marys man was charged with destroy or damage property, use offensive language in/near public place and not comply with noticed direction re s7/8/9 – COVID19.
 
He was granted conditional bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court on February 1, 2021.
 
Disqualified driver charged following high-range PCA crash - Windsor
 
A MAN, disqualified from driving until 2038, has appeared in court charged with multiple traffic offences, following a crash in Sydney’s north-west yesterday.
 
About 4pm on January 11, officers from Hawkesbury Highway Patrol received reports of a fail-to-stop crash on Macquarie Street, Windsor.
 
Police have been told a Holden Commodore crashed into the back of a Utility, before driving away from the scene.
 
A short time later, officers located the vehicle on Mileham Street, Windsor. The Holden failed to stop when directed to by police, and a pursuit was initiated.
 
The pursuit was terminated a short time later when the Holden stopped on James Meehan Street. The 52-year-old driver was arrested.
 
The man provided a positive roadside breath test, and was taken to Windsor Police Station, where he allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.219.
 
Checks revealed the man is disqualified from driving until 2038.
 
He was charged with drive with high range PCA, not give particulars to other driver, police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, disobey no right turn sign and negligent driving.
 
The South Windsor man was refused bail to appear before Penrith Local Court today (Tuesday 12 January 2021).
 
Wanted Glen Innes man located at Windsor
 
POLICE have located and charged a man who allegedly escaped from a minimum-security correctional facility in Glen Innes last year.
 
Officers from New England Police District commenced an investigation after the man was reported missing from the facility on Gwydir Highway about on May 23, 2020.
 
Following extensive inquiries, officers attached to Hawksbury Police Area Command, assisted by the Dog Unit, attended a home on New Street, Windsor about 5am on January 11 where they arrested the 44-year-old man who was allegedly attempting to flee out the back of the house.
 
The man was arrested and taken to Windsor Police Station where two outstanding warrants were executed for inmate escape/attempt to escape from lawful custody and steal motor vehicle.
