SYDNEY COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL

Big names headline at Bella Vista

THE Sydney Country Music Festival served up a hot slice of Australia’s finest country music at Bella Vista Farm last week.

Cloudy skies didn’t deter country fans, who turned out to dance and party the weekend away. Patron feedback was supportive that the event has brought country music to Sydney.

25 big name country artists including Adam Brand, Beccy Cole, Adam Harvey, The Wolfe Brothers, and Luke O’Shea performed over the two day festival and gave fans a great experience.

Festival-goers were delighted to not only see their favourite artists perform but meet them face to face for signings and photos.

One of the highlight performances of the festival was 2015 Golden Guitar winning Amber Lawrence who was delighted to be playing in her home town of Sydney.

“It’s my home town, we’re in Sydney! I’m so stoked to play here and I’m looking forward to a good crowd to have some fun with and have a dance and sing along,” Amber said.

Local acts including Rachael Fahim, Victoria Avenue, Simply Bushed and Kaylens Rain also made an impression on die-hard country fans, and were themselves excited to receive such heartfelt support on home turf.

This year 75% of attendees were from outside of the Hills, of which 12% were from interstate-which was a great result for a festival that is only in its fourth year.

Hills Shire Mayor, Dr Michelle Bryne, says the festival can become a mainstay of the Hills Shire Council’s annual event calendar and will continue to attract even more visitor to the Hills.
