Still a Pygmy author shares his memoirs

HOW did a Pygmy from the forests of Central America end up living in Sydney, Australia?

Hear the story of BaTembo Pygmy, Isaac Bacirongo and his fight to save his identity from extinction plus the journey that took him from the Congo, through the brutality of dictatorship and war, to the arrival and settlement in the suburbs of Sydney.

Hawkesbury Library Service will host an author talk with Isaac Bacirongo and Michael Nest on Wednesday, 17 February 10 at 11:30am where you will hear Isaac present his memoir ‘Still A Pygmy’.

‘Still A Pygmy’ is full of warmth, wit and wise insights about life. Although a memoir, it is also a universal story about the tragedies and challenges faced by many refugees and migrants.

Come along to the Hawkesbury Central Library, Deerubbin Centre, 300 George Street Windsor for this free event. Bookings are essential – phone 4560 4460 or email programs@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au with your name(s), contact number and the event name that you wish to attend.
