POSSIBILITY OF FREE INTERNET BY 2016

BUSINESSES in Western Sydney could enjoy free internet by 2026 if a project by a Chinese technology company comes to fruition.

Linksure is a Shanghai based company that will blast the first of 272 satellites into orbit in 2019 in an ambitious plan to provide free access to the whole world.

And it has taken the lead in the space race which is the biggest technology breakthrough since the Industrial Revolution. It ranks with the Wright Brothers, the first car and the development of personal computers and the internet as fundamental events in humankind’s technology timeline.

Fierce rivals Facebook, Google and Spacex have similar projects well underway, but Linksure is the first to start launching satellites with a worldwide coverage in mind.

Linksure already services 900 million users in 223 countries through its Wi-Fi Masterkey service.
