ROUSE HILL BEER THE BEST

Australian Brewery takes out nine awards

THE Australian Brewery is continuing their strong awards performance recently winning nine awards at the 2014 Australian International Beer Awards.

With two Best in Class, three silvers, four bronze awards, the Rouse Hill based brewery has proved why their beers are making headlines.

Their Pale Ale and Pilsner were the big winners, both beers taking out the Best in Class as well as the silver medal in the Draught and Packaged categories respectively, chosen by the judges as the best in Australia.

The Mexican Lager also won silver and the Extra Hoppy Ale, Pilsner, Dark Lager and the community inspired Rebel Rouser all placed bronze in the Draught Class.

Presented annually by the Royal Agricultural Society (RASV) in partnership with Federation University Australia the AIBA is the largest and most prestigious competition for the beer industry in the Asia Pacific region.

This year represented the toughest competition with a record 1,560 entries from more than 294 brewers in 31 countries. Head Brewer Neal Cameron was proud of the result in such a competitive competition year.

“With so many big name international breweries, we are thrilled with the result,” he said.

“This is the second time that we have just missed out on the gold, but to place so highly with so many different styles of beer is a real achievement for us and our entire team.”
It is no surprise that the canned craft beer was so well received, with the international demand for the Australian Brewery flooding in.

They recently won a contact to export their Pale Ale and Pilsner to Japan and last year started exporting to India.
