NEW RECORDS FOR WSABE

Finalists prepare for gala awards night

THE 2014 Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence (WSABE) has experienced a 300% increase in the number of entries over 2013, resulting in a record 63 finalists.

Parramatta Chamber of Commerce President, Roger Byrne said the result demonstrated that Western Sydney’s businesses are more focussed than ever on delivering quality service and to establishing a level of excellence.

“It’s amazing to think that for 24 consecutive years the Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence have showcased the exceptional skills and achievements of businesses of all industry groups and sizes in Western Sydney and beyond,” Mr Byrne said.

On July 30, over 120 local business people, dignitaries and politicians gathered to hear the announcement of the 63 finalists.

Excellence in Innovation finalist, Ted Dobson from E-Net Solutions who was selected based on the success of his myFLO product, was thrilled to be announced.

“Innovation is the key to Australian business survival. Winning a WSABE would be an acknowledgement that myFLO is an important contribution to this process. The passion behind myFLO is to improve business efficiency offering a seamless paperless system. The WSABE Award would give myFLO credibility, which will encourage businesses to further embrace this technology,” Ted said.

Past WSABE winners have gained major recognition with many going on to develop successful national and international connections, increased market exposure and credibility.

Mr Royce Chen from Homart Pharmaceuticals, a finalist in the Excellence in Export category, said that winning the WSABE awards would mean that Homart was moving in the right direction in terms and stratyegy.

Major sponsor, Commonwealth Bank hosted the event with entertainment provided by an exuberant group of young athletes from Fighting Fit Martial Arts Centre, another finalist in the awards.

This year’s winners automatically go on to be entered in the NSW Business Chamber’s annual awards.

The winners will be announced at the WSABE Gala Night Friday on August 22 at Rosehill Gardens. Visit www.wsabe.com.au for the full list of finalists and to buy tickets to the awards night.
