SYDNEY SCIENCE PARK

12,000 jobs, 3,400 new homes

THE Sydney Science Park proposal is expected to see 12,000 jobs created and 3,400 new dwellings built.

The proposed Science Park will attract world leading scientific professionals and porganisations. Submissions for public comment to the proposal closed on December 14.

Penrith Mayor Karen McKeown said: “The rezoning would unlock land at Luddenham for high quality development and the creation of much sought after knowledge employment.

“Increasing jobs, particularly high-end knowledge jobs in the City is a planning priority for Council,” Cr McKeown said.

“The development fits Council’s vision for the region’s growth. The New West in an era of ongoing prosperity and a future that has good roads, transport and quality jobs and support for the people who choose to live, work and play here.

Sydney Science Park will be a 280 hectare master planned centre for research, development and education in the foodsecurity, energy and health sectors and will have quality residential, educational and retail offerings.
