SYDNEY OLYMPIC PARK

Authority wants a private hospital

THE Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SPOA) is considering expressions of interest for a sports-focussed 4800-square-metre private hospital.

The potential development, on the corner of Olympic Boulevard and Sarah Durack Avenue, could house a private hospital up to five levels.

It would be a short walk from the GWS Giants training facilities and next door to the NSW Swifts headquarters.

The hospital would complements Sydney Olympic Park as the home of sport and one of Australia’s most significant sports business centres, home to 48 sporting organisations including the NSW Institute of Sport and the Australian Paralympic Committee, SOPA.said.

The authority wants the winning company to finance the purchase, development and marketing of a private hospital of up to five levels under the Sydney Olympic Park Master Plan 2030.

“On the opposite side of Olympic Boulevard from this opportunity lays another parcel of vacant land that Sydney Olympic Park Authority is currently seeking detailed proposals on,” the authority said.

This development is likely to accommodate a 30-storey building providing mixed use of ground floor retail, office space and residential living on top.
